Does anyone have any info on how to get scratches out of the the back windows. Doesn’t look very deep but don’t want to mess it up even more. I can live with it but would like to try to get it out someway. I read rubbing compound but that seems a bit harsh for a window. Any products you guys recommend ?

The only way you're gonna touch glass scratches is with a cerium oxide slurry. Car Pro Ceriglass along with their rayon glass pads is kinda the industry standard in automotive glass polishing. You use the pads on a DA or rotary buffer. I wouldn't advise any other method.

That said, it's a very time-intensive process. You're essentially leveling the surrounding glass to the depth of the deepest scratch. Now think about that... yep, glass is hard. And there's not much room to work on the rear windows.

The products can be purchased at Autogeek.com. And there are several great how-to threads on their detailing forum. But trust me when I say you might be opening a can of worms. It really depends on how deep the scratches are.

To be honest, I'd be looking at replacement over "repair".

Can you feel the scratches withyour fingernail?

You may want to take to a prodetailer for an opinion on fixability. They may tell you just to replace the window.

No i cant feel them with my fingernail, the one in the second pic i can but the first is what i'm most concerned about and those aren't cut into the glass. I did send the pics to scratch repair guy locally and he said theyre beyond repair. I was quoted $1100 to replace the back window, FML i'm just gonna run it!

Some ceriglass might smooth the edges of the scratches and improve appearance. But with so little area to move a polisher on there, it'd be tough I think.

was in a hurry and layed two bikes down in the bed, didnt have tie downs. Hit some bumps and the end of the handle bar was rubbing against the glass. Stopped as soon as i could to fix it but guess it wasnt soon enough!
