I am currently an owner of a 2015 Toyota TRD sport. I recently installed the readylift 2” leveling kit. I am going to buy new tires soon and want to go with something a little bigger. The readylift manufacturer claim that on this year tacoma I can fit 285/70r17 without rubbing or trimming needed. I am just oftely confused because I have read many different opinions about this topic. I am reaching out to someone who knows from experience what is the biggest tire size without rubbing. Thanks guys. Hoping to hear some good news because 285 is what I’m interested in running

Nothing major though right? Im just nervous because I have been feeling around with my stock tires and wheels and there’s only about half an inch between my tires and some parts that house the springs in the front

I guess I will put some more info to what I said:

I'm running 3" of lift in the front on 285/75/16's. So far, I have had to do the following:

    - remove the mudflaps
    - trim the plastic where the mudflaps mount
    - cab mount chop
    - trim the fender liners back and beat in the pinch weld
    - recently just removed the fender liners entirely

If you're just going to pound pavement, minimal trimming of plastics. You will have to trim as far as I can tell if you're only running 2" of lift. Maybe little to absolutely zero trimming if you had 3"+

The more your front suspension travels and articulates, the more you have to trim. Simple as that.

So if I was to just go with a 275 then most likely I wouldn’t have to trim anything?

No guarantee. Full lock might rub.

Won't know until you fit them.
