I have never run an icon lift but a buddy had a 5k icon lift on his FJ and seemed to have trouble with it. He also thought it was a baja truck so perhaps that was the issue.

Agreed. They do focus on Toyota stuff and I must say every time he broke it they helped him out. I got sick of changing his shocks though. He was doing stupid shit like tearing mounts and blowing shocks but again mostly abuse. They realized his UCAs were defective and sent him a new set next day and told him to keep the old ones. I prefers the 1970's OME tech so what do I know.

Anyone care to explain the difference between the OME kit and putting Bilateins in front and back? Same end result or not?
    Thanks, reading and learning.

It is pretty much the same result. OME is a little more heavy duty but has less adjustability and are a little stiffer. I think you can reuse the factory coil springs with bilsteins too. With OME you need to replace the coils.

You can set the bilsteins for less lift keeping the UCA in factory spec saving the cost of replacing those also. Lots of people have success with both. I recommend OME because I have had that lift in several variations with good success. Both are great options.
