So I recently bought a set of seat covers for my 2017 SR Xtra cab from PrecisionFit and I wanted to know if anyone had any tips for getting them set up.

It looks like a lot of work to get the existing covers unstrapped from the bottom with such a small area of space to work with plus the wiring that runs under the seats.

I don't feel comfortable removing the seats myself since I don't have much experience working on cars especially with something as important as this.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

What exactly are wanting to remove? Are there already seat covers on it?
If not then I believe your new seat covers are supposed to go on over the factory material.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I am guessing He wants to remove the seats from the truck to put the seat covers on, but he is not feeling comfortable doing that.

I'm not trying to actually remove the standard covers that are on the seats, but the straps under the seats have to be 'un-hooked' temporarily to install the seat covers I bought. I saw a video of a heater installed in a Tacoma seat on YouTube and in that install, the seat was completely removed from the truck. I was able to see the complete assembly of the underside of the seat and to remove the cover straps, it looks like it takes a bit of work even with the seat removed and flipped over. I can't imagine trying to unhook the straps and re apply them while the seat is bolted to the truck.

I'll try to post a pic of the bottom of the seats later when I get home from work, but I just wanted to know if removing the seat is the only option to get the covers installed correctly.

Removing the seat and working in a clear space would be the easiest method to do a nice job installing the covers.

90% chance that's what a good interior shop would do if you dropped it off to have them install them.

Yea there's a lot of wiring with all the bombs and buzzers that are butt sensitive nowadays. But they are all plugs, should all be different sizes/shapes to insure correct reconnections.

If it were mine, I'd disconnect the ground on the battery, pull the seat bolts, tilt the seat, and see if I could work the covers that way.

If not, then unplug the wiring and remove the seat.
