Just got home from a trip to Coronado, CA. Dealer conference for work. Had fun. Got drunk. Stayed up until 1:50am. Then got up at 5:20am. Then went on a 14 mile bike ride around Coronado island. Electric bikes get going pretty fast if you pedal and use full throttle at the same time! I had to have hit 30mph. LOL

And there's only one photo on my phone that I don't recall taking. And it's not inappropriate. So I think I did okay.

Although the weather there was awesome (the ocean is pretty damn cold this time of year though) I'm glad to be home in my own bed again!

I'll assume no additional tats and you woke up wearing your own underwear. If so, all should be good.

Yep. No tattoos. All my clothes stayed on. No diseases. etc, etc.

Playing in the waves at the beach was fun though! LOL I had to wade in slowly and let the boys acclimate first. That first full body wave was so cold I thought I couldn't breath for about half a second. lol

I think a buddy and I played in the surf for about 30 minutes. Lots of salt water in my nasal passages. LOL

It never looked that pretty while I was there! LOL Smog settled in every morning/evening.

Although I did watch US Navy Seahawk helos drop SEALS into the bay for about an hour. That was pretty cool. Also watched them fly over the beach with SEALS hanging on fast line rope under the helo.

Just saying hello! My name's Keegan. I don't have a Taco, but i've got a 3rd Gen 4Runner and am looking forward to getting more into building it up a little. I enjoy working on my cars, I've had alot of VWs, and Subarus in the past but first Toyota. Most of my friends have Tacomas, i just picked this one up last spring. Front end is smashed and i was thinking i'd do the 2001 - 2004 Tacoma front end swap, so if anyone has parts! Let me know...

I'm in Helena. Here's a crappy pic of my 4runner. Don't mind the tiremarks and missing corner light, it's a work in progress!

    Hi Keegan! Welcome to T-Dubb.

Someone's momma once told me if I didn't have anything nice to say that I should say nothing at all. Instead, I just tell people that someone's momma told me that. :anonymous:

Nope, that one wasn't me. My RTT is in the garage until I can convince someone to go snow camping with me haha. I think I've seen the truck you're talking about though. Pretty much the same as mine, except I have a softtopper under the tent rack.

Are there many places to go in the winter around here? My coworkers mentioned that most of the forest service roads get closed in the winter, but I haven't really had the chance to get out and see what there really is.

Made it with no issues. I had a tail wind from Columbus to Casper and got amazing mileage, then Casper to Cheyenne I hit some bad crosswinds and into nothern Colorado so that sucked.
I chose the Montana route since I haven't been there before but I think I missed the good scenery over the divide at night

Most roads are closed. There are a few options though. Campgrounds at most of the state parks stay open, some of the fishing access sites along the Madison stay open all year, the area around Canyon Ferry gets very little snow so all of that stays open.
Might have to deal with fishermen in the day but you'd have the place to yourself at night

Coronado is awesome. Every time I visit San Diego that's where I stay. The military base has a hotel on the beach and it's cheap. I miss San Diego for the food. But don't think I could live there again. Too busy.

@itskmill06 welcome! I'm up in Great Falls. Let me know if you are ever up this ways.

LOL My boss put it like this, "Old Navy Vets retire to Coronado because... it's one of very few, very small places in CA where conservatives can be near others like them" or something similar. My boss is a Navy vet.
