general question dealing with cold and starting the taco

ok so for the past couple morning its been in the teens, so when i start the truck it takes a second or two and then the starter sounds like i'm holding the key forward to long ( but i make sure i'm not holding it more than is needed to start) anyone else have the problem or do i need to look into a new battery to avoid it happening more? side note.. battery is about 5 years old and came with the truck..

 

Get a new battery, and also change the oil if it's almost time to do that...

I had the same problem and I changed the oil, though my second battery is only like two and a half years old and I didn't replace it...

 

i still have about 3k miles before oil needs to be changed, battery should've been changed this past fall, but life got in the way... guess i'll need to change it before i have to start changing other stuff
