I'm going to go out a limb here, but it's probably not an issue with the battery

You have another problem. Most likely the regulator circuit inside the alternator. Have the alternator checked or replace it.

That's what I was thinking. All I have are an AutoStart that doesn't work anymore, and aftermarket foglights. The local garage checked for a parasitic draw, and couldn't find anything.
I was thinking the same, except that the battery does charge while the truck is running. My only fear is that I get the garage to do that, and they tell me "your alternator is fine" after hours of labour. Perhaps I'll have to go ahead and have it checked anyways. Thanks.

Buy a multimeter and check the alternator one weekend. Its actually easier then you would think. There are helpful youtube videos out there.

So to clarify, your current battery was installed in 2015 and a month later it started having the problems you describe currently. I doubt it’s a faulty battery as it would have died completely by now. Since after driving it , it charges the battery. First disconnect the battery and charge the battery completely, wait about 2 hours then check the voltage. It should show around 12.6 or 12.7, it may be a little higher but not lower. If voltage is normal you next need to do or have done a battery load test. If that is normal then your battery is fine and you need to find the source that is draining it. That’s a lot of drain if it won’t start your engine after only 2 days of sitting.
One question, if the battery started dying in 2015 after 2 days of non use why did you wait 2 years to pursue the problem? There’s to many unknowns here.
As far as what’s a good battery, you’ll get a hundred different responses here. Good luck choosing one from all the different responses.

Is it a maintenance free battery? If it’s not check the fluid level. It used distilled water. If you can see the cells water isn’t going to help.

Try an Interstate battery. I also agree with having a load test done.

If you are talking about Toyota TrueStart, I could not agree more. Every one I've owned bit the dust way too soon.

My truck is 8 years old and I’m on my 3rd battery. Sounds to me like you’re doing well in comparison

Yeah I think you are right, something is draining the battery. I had looked into on a few occasions by getting the garage to check for a drain, and they found nothing. Been putting up with ever since. Nuisance.
    THAT HAS TO BE IT

My truck is a 2015 with 4.0 engine 162,000 miles, cold climate. Thinking of replacing battery soon instead of getting stranded two hours from home etc. while at work.

Current battery is 27F but I see alot of places that say the correct size is 24F...whats the difference?

It should be the 27F. Difference is cold cranking amps.

I have the largest size battery from advance...it has lasted for about 6 years now I think with no issues....granted I have the four cylinder...which probably is easier on it.

If you go to an advance they can check your battery and alternator free of charge.

Forgot to add AutoZone or most of the other big part stores will also do the same.

Tonight I just bought a duralast gold from autozone with a 5 year warranty. Mine was original from 2013 with 71k miles. It’s been cranking slower, so I decided to just replace it.
