LOL there's a reason MD is known for some of the worst and clueless drivers in the country. I thought NY was bad until I moved here, holy shit.

I eventually convinced the guy to pull over with my limited sign language skills without having to resort to the one piece of universal sign language I knew he’d understand.

    Yawn...
There was a time on the road when I thought this hot chick was continually waving at me.

I came back to reality at the gas station when I found my fuel door open all along.

Thanks. I see from this site that I can dump money into this truck in about any direction. The wife has been warned. I can't wait til it warms up so I can get in the garage and start doing some simple stuff ( no heat in garage). That walk from the taco parking to stop 1 at work is enough some mornings.

 47 degrees already! Finally, an inside and outside hand wash weekend!!! Think I'll rotate my tires too. Almost at 10k on the clock anyway.

That’s a use for the toaster oven I can get behind. What was the problem?

The 4x4 light was blinking for no reason for 2 days in a row. I tried different things (go from 2H to 4H, etc) nothing worked. Someone told me to tap the actuator with a hammer, he said it may work but eventually the actuator will go bad and will need to be replaced. It worked, but that was not enough; 450 for parts and about 450 for labor was the quote from the dealer!! So, I started my research and found out the actuator can be fixed. I think I fixed it, will put it back tomorrow. Also, Im doing the diff oil change since Im messing with it.

Hey fellas. Made the trek from SOMD to Deep Creek this weekend for some snowboarding at the Wisp. Took my 17 SR. I was pretty impressed at how she performed in western MD. At cruise control on 78-80 mph it held in gear way better than I anticipated. We were loaded with 4 guys, 3 snowboards, and all the gear that comes with it. I know the 3rd gen gets a bad rep because of the tranny woes but mine seems okay. I do still have Prius tires. Averaged 19.6 mpg.

If it's stock it's much better than lifted with bigger tires. Once you throw 285s under it, you'll see how useless 6th is and pretty much 5th also. It's crazy that with 33s and 4.88 gears, the auto trans is still searching all over for gears. I do miss my 3rd gen for everything other than the engine and transmission combo though. Overall it was a great truck inside and out. Hopefully one day i'll see it here on the forum or on the road. Hopefully whoever has it today is enjoying it!

I have no plans to lift mine. If I keep it I'll throw some 265/70 or 75 AT on it and call it a day. Probably step up to C or E load since I tow a lot. Still up in the air about keeping the truck since the rear suspension is just barely up to the task of towing my boat.

Yeah the stock 245 tires on the SR are TINY As far as the stock springs, you can always throw a helper spring back there. I wouldn't sell it simply because it needs heavier springs, that's an easy fix.

265/75/16 will probably be the move. Lots of options and easy to find that size in a higher ply sidewall. I've been eyeballing some sumosprings. They seem to get good reviews. I'm well within the towing capacity, but it's a lot of boat in physical size back there.

Yeah, I hear ya and agree. What tires are you looking at? A stuffer and wider tire should improve the ride while towing.

I'm looking at the Falken wild peak, cooper St Maxx, and general grabber AT². I had the general in SL P rated on my ranger. They had very soft sidewalls but I really liked the grip and performance off road. Never did any too crazy wheeling but for my purposes they did great.

I had the AT2 under my Tacoma and I agree on the sidewall. They do however handle very well in rain and snow, very quiet on the road, and they last FOREVER. They're a solid 60,000 mile tire as long as you rotate them as you're supposed to. A lot of people love the Falkins but I have been reading a bunch of people getting defective tires that won't balance properly lately. ST Maxx is also supposed to be a great tire. Other option in that range would be the KO2 which I have experience with and other than the fact they run small for their given size, they're a great tire. I'm currently running the Ridge Grappler and while they do well, i'm not overly impressed with them on wet ground. I think the KO2 and AT2 did much better in that respect.

My AT2 we're tough to balance too. I think that was only a problem a few years ago. I think they got them figured out now. AT2 is pretty high on my list since I'm already familiar and going to an E load on these will definitely be stiffer than the Hankooks on there now.

I really love my Maxx, but that's probably a bit much for what you want. They're heavy as hell, but do great both on and off road.
