My auxiliary driving light switch broke and I am trying to both replace and relocate the switch. You can see the hole in the picture where the original switch was located. I never really liked the location of the original switch because it was behind the steering wheel and looked out of place.

I bought a Mictuning switch from Amazon to replace the old switch. (https://www.amazon.com/MicTuning-LS...d=1516482296&sr=8-6&keywords=mictuning+switch). Has anybody attempted to fit one of these switches in one of their "blank" switch locations? The dimensions seem to work when I measured the exterior hole; however, it appears that the switch hole gets smaller about 1/4" deep. I also assume that I have to remove the lower dash to access the wires. When I stuck my finger in the hole it didn't appear there was a lot of space due to the vent above the switch plate. I haven't attempted to jam the switch in there until I figure out the second issue.

When I wired up the new switch per the directions that came from Mictuning the LED light stayed on when the truck was completely off. I don't know if this is a big deal because the light is LED and probably doesn't drain much battery; however, I don't think this is ideal. I only want the backlight to be on when the headlights are on. I figure I have to tap into the dash fuse but I'm unsure how to do so.

Finally, if I can successfully relocate the switch any suggestions on how to cover up the hole from the previous switch location?
