Any of you guys try this? Got a couple of hail damage spots on the truck, I am thinking about buying a puller and try my luck. Been watching some youtube videos and it looks kinda doable. Any tips? Any suggestions on what type of tools to buy?
    Thanks in advance.

Its easier and cheaper just to pay a pro.

If you screw up and eff up the paint you have yourself a very hefty repair bill.

PDR is an art. The guy I always use would charge maybe $100 for 3-4 hail spots depending on location.

If it on the roof you can always ask how much it would be if you remove the headliner yourself. Just an idea.

30 years insurance experience: PDR is getting more high tech every day. Now they use a laser grid to project across the surface. They can take dents out you don't even see w/ the eye. I second paying a pro unless it's your beater truck. You'll be pleased.

I have a buddy that does this and he is REALLY good at it. If you were in CO I would PM you his number. He took a good size dent out of the roof of the last truck I owned and you could not even tell it was there.

I've been doing PDR for almost 20yrs. I strongly recommend NOT trying it yourself. Little backstory, my insurance agent called me and wanted me to look at one of his employees vehicles he "attempted" to pull dents on. When I got there, the Honda Fit he worked on had huge pimples in the roof and hood. He bought a glue pulling tool off Amazon cheap, and actually used it on his brand new F250 to remove some dents caused by acorns. Thing is,his truck is aluminum which is damn near impossible to pull a pimple in. He actually pulled the paint off in a couple of spots on the Honda too. Anyway, ask your PDR tech a lot of questions. How long have they been a tech? Are they going to drill holes? Drilling holes is a last ditch resort for me. There's lots of ways around it,but sometimes it's unavoidable.

Just pay a PDR guy to do it. It doesn’t cost much and the outcome is amazing.

    I'll pile on.

If your finish is worth messing with a couple of small dents, pay a pro.

If you want to learn how to DIY, get a panel at a junk yard and practice on that.

Wow, I guess it’s a lot more involved than it looks on YouTube.
