It all started on June 12, 2017 when SDHQ emailed me asking if I was okay with the shipping total and the final price of the order. Shipping charges to California for 2 pairs of boots totaled $18.46. I replied asking if that was the cheapest shipping option. After not hearing back I emailed SDHQ on June 22, 2017 Stating that I still have not received my order or even a response and to just send them the cheapest route. Finally my order was shipped.

Once I installed them all seemed to be good, until one day I noticed grease leaking everywhere. Approximately 2,000 miles into running these boots, the passenger side outer boot developed a tiny hole perfectly between the outer fin. I emailed SDHQ asking if they would warranty it. They responded asking for pictures of the hole in the boot, a picture of the suspension, and an entire photo of the truck. Once I sent the photos in, I received a reply stating they would talk to the managers and see what they could do. Two days later I received an email stating they will not warranty their boots because the conditions they get exposed to. Mind you, my boots have 2,000 miles on them! They also said the boot looks a little scrunched. The boot was not "scrunched" as the CV boots have notches in the axle they slide into an none of the fins were touching each other! Also stated was they do not provide inner clamps for the boots and I used clamps. Yes, I used clamps because the boots are not tight enough to keep debris out of the inside. Also they did not state not to use clamps on their website or in any directions. If you look at the SDHQ CV boot thread it is filled with people putting clamps on the boots and posting links to the clamps they bought. SDHQ did not state in the thread not to use them. The last statement as to why they will not warranty the boot said "Looking at the pin hole, it does look as it was punctured, not torn". The hole is perfectly in between two fins. I agree it it not torn, but I believe it is a manufacturing defect because the hole is perfectly between the two fins.

I would defiantly not recommend SDHQ boots as they failed me way to quick. After my TacomaWorld "discount" they still ran me $81.37 not including grease. Your best option would be OEM as they lasted me over 50,000 miles until one finally ripped and Toyota includes grease and clamps with their rebuild kit.

This post isn't to bash SDHQ. It's just my honest opinion as why you shouldn't run their boots. These boots probably cost $5 or less to manufacture and they can't warranty a one thats defective.

Bummer. I haven't had any negative encounters with SDHQ. They're usually quick to respond and take care of any issues that they can, when they can.

Can’t believe that they wouldn’t help you out at all.

I went back to OEM and no problems. SDHQ boots are trash.
