Very nice, those look good! I like the idea of the Line-x on the step pad. More traction and it will hold up to scratches from dirt and rocks stuck in shoes allot better.

Ok, so I don't have any of those little electric boxes on my frame(2nd gen) so it was way easier of an install also Long bed so much more room under the truck.

My hardware is slightly different than these photos. I don't have this captured nut on a stick for the rear. I also only have 5 bolts per side and three backing plates per side (3 plates w/ loose nuts plus the two nuts on the forward capture sticks) so I think there was a design change rather than missing hardware. Can you confirm?

I'm sorry we did not get back to you earlier we do not check this thread very often for messages. There were some design changes to the hardware and by Toyota. There are not as many holes in the side of the frame on the 2017 and up models. We updated our install instructions to reflect these changes. Instead of the single nut on a stick, you will now just use a square nut plate with flange nut in that area.

We do not have any pics of them on an access cab yet. The step pads are the same whether they are on an access cab or double cab.

    Yes
    Severely
But that's an issue of metal on metal contact
    Just gotta take it off
Coat it with paint or rust preventative and put them back

I have had a set on our FJ and Tacoma for over a year now and a friend of ours has them on her 4runner for over two years. We don't have rust on any of ours. Not sure why you may be having problems, it could be the quality of the powder coat job that was done.
Some guys put small plastic washers in between the step plate screws and the step plate to prevent the screw from gouging into the powder and causing rust. If you are getting rust from in between the step plates and the rock slider tube, then that is an issue with a bad powder coating job.

Mine is from between the mounting plate and my frame rail

    I don't feel it's anything that is anyone's fault
Just normal issue with metal on metal contact even if it is painted

Mine is just between the bolt and step plates. Guess I’ll have to get the steps recoated then use plastic washers.
