4x4 light flashing even when switched back to 2wd

    Icon stage 1, 285/75/16 Toyo mt's
    Headed up the mountain to see some snow the other day and went to engage H4 but it didn't seem to engage properly. No drive to the front wheels so tried switching it back to 2wheel, then tried putting the truck in neutral and going to L4, moving the wheels back and forth but nothing seemed to engage it. Now since yesterday, the 4x4 light on the dash has just been flashing even though regular 2wd is selected. Anyone have any ideas?
