My 1st off-roading was with a Pinto!! My girlfriend and I got it stuck on a forest trail and all we had to dig with was an old AM radio and tire iron. Now that I think about it, I had a lot of firsts in that car...:D

Pretty funny! My father in law used to do the Elephant Hill trail with an early 70’s VW Bus back then when his bus was almost new! I don’t think the trail was in the same condition back then as it is today, though.

Growing up on a 3100 acre farm in South Ga, we off-roaded shit that wasn't meant to leave the pavement.

Just a couple miles from my house. I go several times every week. There's 3 different sand pits within 5 miles of me. Love it.

I had a buddy and we'd Offroaded the shit out of his geo metro, till one day he bombed this knarly road and landed on a rock and blew up the transmission.

4 buff guys picked it up and moved it, then we proceeded to set it on fire and shorting it for the next couple of hours. He ended up getting $800 from insurance.

Moral of the story, yes you can Offroad a 2wd, and when you get stuck make sure you set it on fire and tell insurance crazy rednecks stole it.

Welcome, the truck is probably more capable off road than you are at this point, so play safe. And always have a Dive Buddy

Back around 1997-1998 my Step mother had one of these CRVs... We lived down a straight 2 mile dirt road... I washed dishes in a small country restaurant after school... My older brother came to pick me up one night...

Got on the dirt road and he started flooring it. He yells out "I just hit 100mph" right then he hits the soft shoulder, over corrects, and we roll 6-8 times until we hit some trees.

It was totaled. Frame was twisted. Every window exploded. No air bags deployed. Neither of us were wearing seatbelts... But neither of us had a single scratch either.

    Tough vehicles.

Had a 2003 Grand Marquis that I used to take to the limit and beyond at Indian Valley BLM area. The traction control was money.

I'd say just take it out with the stock tires and see how she does. Take a buddy with a 4WD with you (and a tow rope). You'd probably be surprised how far you can go.

The killer for 2WD, though, is any time the terrain gets slippery (mud, sand, snow, etc). Stops you dead in your tracks.
