recently upgraded stock tires on an 09 from 265/65/17 to 265/70/17 and the tire warning system stays on. Is that /c of the larger size tire? can the light be disabled? Or does one need to bring to dealer?

It's also possible that whomever mounted your new tires damaged a Tire Pressure Sensor during the mounting process.

    No.

Not really. Bulb removal is about the only sure fire way.

Assuming you can't clear the lamp following the procedure in the owners manual, take it back to the outfit that mounted the tires.

Keep in mind that an '09 is about the age sensors start to fail due to age and dying batteries, so it could be coincidence.

If the light is completely solid from the time you first start the truck its a pressure related problem as discussed could be a sensor in the spare.

If the light flashes for a bit then goes solid there is a communication issue

It could also be that the parameters at which the sensors were set prior to the change in size are a pound or two or three off from the current pressure of the new tires. If the techs didn't reset the light to accommodate for the update, it could account for the light being in now. You can reset the light yourself, but You should still verify that that is, in fact, the issue (ie. make sure a sensor(s) isn't in need of replacement).

I'd reset the light according to the manual and if the light still comes on, take it in to the shop you got the tires.

If no other problems, just place a piece of electrical tape over the light
