The drivers side rear brake line seems like it’s tight to me. Hopefully I’m wrong and this is what it’s supposed to look like? Passenger side seems to have more slack. On a 2017 trd off road with 1.5 inch aal in rear.

I think that’s the parking break cable? I have a icon aal and it looks the same

Hmm. I guess that would make sense? I guess I should research what lines are what. I just assumed it was brake lines.

nope brake lines are hard lines that run across the rear axle then convert to rubber lines on the driver side going up to the frame hardlines

Yeah that's the parking brake cable. Can't imagine an AAL stressing it too much but you can always remove the brackets and zip tie for extra slack. If it breaks off at the drum it's a major pain in the ass to replace a cable. Been there

If you have an issue with the lines. there is a spacer you could install to push the bracket upward. or you could always just get extended lines. I have AAL with a spacer for the lines and haven't noticed any issues even with the LR off the ground

I haven’t necessarily had any problems with it. Just looked wrong to me at first because I thought it was the actual brake line. Coming from a Jeep I was looking for a different kind of line. It has a little slack so I think it should be good.

your jeep most likely had disc brakes on the rear that may be the difference.. park brake cable in the pic looks normal

This! Did the same thing on my 15 when I installed the rear AAL. It has actually started to chafe the hard rubber coated line the first 5000 miles I drove around before bending it to ease the strain.

That is your parking brake cable, and it’s fine the way it is. It’s meant to be tight, so don’t mess with it.

Gotcha. Some people on here are brutal and sarcasm is hard to spot in text. No offense taken here. Was trying to figure out if it was actually a dumb question! Haha. Which maybe it is.

There are NO dumb questions..! Just things that we have not seen before and we ask the "professionals" on here for advice..!!

It's usually THE best place to get real good answers, and (as in my case) some, dumb-ass comments..!! hehe.. :crapstorm:
