Does anyone know if the Spare Tire the 2017 Taco's TRD Sport Upgrades come with, has a plain steel rim or the same kind of rim that is used on the rest of the car??

Plain steel with mismatched tire. Toyo's all around and my spare had a Firestone Destination tire. All my wheels match now because of a Discount Tire screw up but still have the FS tire.

I took two nails in the shoulder the other day so I've been rocking the spare waiting for my wheels and tires to get here.
The steel rim and different tire are a non issue, unless you've got OCD

I had a 2013 TRD Baja with the stock takos and the spare was a rugged trail - cheap.

Rugged Fails were some of the worst tires I have ever had!

    Exactly the same here.
Alloy rims of course on a '17 TRD Sport 4X4. Called today.... no return yet. I wonder which is better or more expensive ?

To be clear, (and I understand your responding to another post)
My mismatched tires and spare are all the same size... just different makers.

OCD aside..... It's only an issue if you were satisfied the first time around when you go to by a new set . If they were the same you would only need to buy 3 new ones and swap the best of the old for a spare.....

I'm thinking that Toyota got a better "deal" on the the Firestones so they slapped 'em on the spare to save a few bucks. Discount chipped a brand new wheel and replaced it. They said they were going to trash the chipped one and offered to put it on the spare so I took it.
