Old Man's rack on a budget

OK there are some really nice custom racks on here that will make your eyes pop from the vendors. This does not look near as good as those, but right now I cannot afford the cost, and they're worth the $$ if it meets your needs, the craftsmanship are superb, but when your on a budget and your a diy'er this might be of interest to you. I bought this on Amazon it's adjustable and had to modify it a bit, says it good for 1000lbs but I'll never max it, width wise it works good, length wise you'll have to shorten the pipe and add some extra bolts ( see pics ) also had to buy some 3in flat bar 3/16 thick I think, and add it to the mounts so it would fit the bed rail system, ( see pics ). They didn't have the exact length allen screws for the bed rail system so I had to add a nut to tighten, going to paint them black to match everything as soon as it warms up again turned cold before I finished it.

Looks great, and if you were thinking of outfitting your truck for camping, you could easily have a canvas shop use it as a frame to make a soft top for it...
