Up for sale, 2001 Toyota Tacoma TRDOR, xtracab, 2.7l I4, 5 speed manual.

Has around 180k miles, runs fine. Shifts fine. Rides really nice.

As you can see from pics, a little bit has been done to it. Its a good truck, new frame as of 2011.

The good:

Bilstein 5100 adjustable coilovers with Eibach springs up front
Bilstein 5100 and Deaver AAL in the rear.
Alpine head unit (it is rather dated...)
Polk Db component sets (2) with crossovers
Snugtop shell
Procomp 7069 matte wheels
BFG AT/KO tires, very very low miles.
New CV axles
EBC slotted brake rotors and Green Stuff pads up front.

The interior is really really clean, can get pics if required. Although, it probably does need a wipe down and vac out.

The Not As Good:

As typical with a northern truck, the rust has started. There are two small spots on the driver's side cab where you step in. One of them is right on the weld that mates the cab together. the other is just in front of it about a foot. Both are smaller than a quarter and are simply surface rust.

Reason for sale: The family has outgrown this vehicle. As the wife refuses to learn how to drive a manual, it is only driven by me, in weather that requires its usage. Time for it to go to someone who can use this to it's true capabilities.


I replaced the chrome grille with a black one (eBay) and still have the original. I also have the original coilovers, in case someone wants to put it back to stock.

Full disclosure: I have put about 10,000 miles on this truck after the lift and wheels and tires. Somehow, I've developed a shimmy, or shake that honestly, I just haven't put the effort into tracking down and eradicating. I know it is something simple, probably a u-joint, of which I have an entire new set from Moog, sitting in the box that will come with the sale. It only happens when in gear, when in neutral, its nonexistent.


If I were to keep it, the list of things that I would do are:

1. Update bushings in suspension
2. Replace u-joints
3. Rust repair, as it will be cheap and simple
4. Projector headlamps
5. Roof racks
6. Diesel swap? lol.


Other than that, this truck is solid and ready for some adventure.

 

So how many miles does it have now? Nice looking truck.

Beautiful truck! I'm a long time lurker looking for my first Tacoma and yours checks all the boxes. Would you be willing to remove some of those aftermarket parts to lower the price?
