New Ford Ranger mega thread

It drives me crazy when someone creates an account on "Tacomaworld" to talk about Ford, Chevy, Honda without owning a Tacoma. Just mentioning thing's they know to be true because someone else said it.

I can't think of a worse use of my time than logging on to a Ford forum and discussing all of Ford's shortcomings or Toyotas strengths.

The fool 100 percent of the time. How else do you stop misinformation if you don't call it out?

 

The way I see it is that you are 100% correct.

I also see that it is easy to agree with you, since I have a life.

Not everyone is so fortunate.

When TW gets too annoying, I just log off and do other things. So far, I have always come back, but who knows? It is a pretty good forum, never dull and usually good information can be had if you are willing to wade through shit to get it....lol

 

My point is, why are you worried about time or misinformation that's speculation on a future product? What's your skin in the game? That someone might buy a different brand other than the one you hold to be superior?

As for people without Tacoma's commenting, you realize most of the mods don't have Tacoma's right? Some don't even have Toyota's lol.

It doesn't make sense for anyone to get so worked up about this. Unfollow the thread when it gets stupid. Why do you think I haven't posted in pages? Once shit gets into a speculative argument I hit that unfollow button and go find something productive to do.

 

I've barely been active on this thread. I just could see what's going on. Calling out trolls typically gets them banned if they keep it up. I wouldn't discourage anyone from keeping the site clean.

The fewer trolls the better TW is.

 

You haven't been here very long then lol. Actively calling people trolls is against the COC. Don't believe me? Ask a mod. This isn't the playground in an elementary school where your purpose is to call out the kids you see bullshit on. Let the mods do that. There's a report button for a reason. It's a forum. There is supposed to be discussion, especially when you're talking about something in the future without a bunch of concrete facts around it.

Anyways, my advice is to relax. If you want to keep calling everyone else go ahead. That's a good way to end up on the wrong end of a few bans. Trust me.

 

I don't remember when I signed up. 10 year's ago I think. The trolls are extra strong right now for some reason. I'm all for cleaning them up.

 

You're not a mod. You don't actually get to decide what happens on here. I know, it sucks, but it is what it is.

They'll never make it a requirement to own a Tacoma to be on this site. Nor will they ban people for speculating on the 3rd gen.

Just remember, your conversations have little to no effect on how many Rangers or Tacomas will be sold. In fact, if you really wanted to stop the BS, why not hang out at a car dealership and call out the salesmen?

Hard to compare a Focus RS that is shaped like a egg with a Ranger that is shaped like a brick. Apples to oranges comparison here...

 

For 28 years I had one shell, one lumber rack, and one tool box. All fit the two Rangers I had for that span. I don't expect I'll ever have that kind of consistency again. Neither those trucks nor my current taco could be considered top shelf vehicles but I think both get a fair amount of flack for being cheap. There just isn't a super high quality small truck. I'm happy with all three vehicles though.

 

Took these last night at the Detroit auto show. Ugly as hell in person. Sorry these are as close as you could get so no interior pics or any data.

If I were to judge the reaction of the public to this truck there were maybe 2-3 people around the Ranger compared to people swarming every other vehicle in the place. No one seems to care and no one was blown away in the least. People were climbing all over the Colorado’s, Canyon’s, Ridgeline’s and Tacoma’s. Ranger is just a mini F150 that is uglier.
