Winter roads just opened, ice roads should shortly. After this next freeze (-22C) tonight, should be good to go.

@ronoc thanks for the like that reminded me about this thread.

''Tis the season boys. I am in Idaho now and the lake nearby had ~2inches last I heard. Guess I should unpack my gear and see what I need.

Talked to a guy who was out just prior to it cooling off. He said about 2.5ft. then. It's been -31C last 3 days. Something tells me I'm gonna run out of extensions by Wednesday.

Had a friend do the same thing a few years ago. With the help of a fish camera and a minnow net we were able to retrieve the phone off the bottom of the lake. Hopefully 2018 brings you more nice fish and dryer outings for your phone!

I have to say, being able to access ice fishing spots. Access points onto rivers and lakes is partly what inspired my taco purchase. (Super new, like 3 days new!) As well as being confident on a snow drift filled lake. @FastEddy59 probably knows about “big windy” an aptly nick named lake from our area.

Of course I’ll look to use for other outdoors adventures as I already enjoy camping and hiking. Maybe overland to more remote fishing/camping spots.

Saw some guys using a similar one late last year. Wind was just gettin’ gusty when I broke camp & on the move to another spot. Looked pretty stable. Never got a chance to ask but there was two people in there.

Neat, I think for the price it should work for me. Lakes N Rivers being fleetfarms "store brand" so it seems like a rebranded generic one. It does seem to share the same frame as many hunting blinds too.

Just watch the weave on the fabric. Some cut the wind better than others. Still gotta run a heater up here.
