Gotcha. FWIW, I bought my second truck used, and the previous owner had left a pretty big leak at the third taillight for years. It was disgusting. That technique work perfectly for the smell, but the carpet is still a bit discolored.
Whatever you end up doing, don't forget to wash the metal floor of the truck, or the smell will never go away.

Yeah. It's a mess. Headliner is molded too, probably inside the dash and passenger doors too if I am guessing. Had too much fun that day lol.

I can totally see it stripped completely out! But the boys wouldn't like not being able to ride with dad on the trails.

 

My personal vote is death proof cage the driver seat, and put a ball pit in the rest of the truck for the boys.

I cheaped out and used Frost king hvac insulation. It’s a rubbery foam-ish material. Doesn’t soak up water so that’s good. I did the entire floor pan and doors.

It isn’t any quieter in the cab than when I had carpet and padding, but it isn’t any louder either. I also don’t notice any more heat from the floorboard like you hear some people with vinyl complaining about.

So I guess you could say it works?

Would do it the same again because cheap.

My first truck I ever had, I ripped out the carpet. It was great until open headers lol. I use to just take a hose and spray the floor down. It was awesome.
