I've got a set on my MT build, and love them.

I did a set if TC gussets, then got alignment done. Then measured the location of the cams and cut a set.of plates to put the bolts in the same locations. It's a bit of work to cut the plates and drill the holes, but otherwise a very easy install.

2 hours? Dropping LCAs and removing the spindle (otherwise it just gets in the way). Drilling and air chiseling the old shit. Welding the new ones together. Grinding shit flat and cleaning metal. Welding. Paint. Far from a 2 hour project for me and I've done it 3 times. And even then, the only thing that has stopped the damn camber eccentrics on my rigs from rotating with spirited driving is spot welding the eccentrics to the cam tabs.

Yes they work for those who don't have heimed uppers. Permanently Welding the eccentrics to the frame takes all of 5 minutes for those that have heimed uppers.

Has anyone tried welding th eccentrics with regular uppers? As long as alignment was good before welding it should work. I've only adjusted my heims once...

Ok it is more than a few hours lol. I would say it took me about 3 hours to do. The air chisel did most of the labor though lol. Welding them together does take up most of the time.

Problem is IF you are a spirited driver and anything else gets tweaked, you'll have no way to adjust it back into spec

True. If anything but toe goes.out you're SOL.

I dunno how hard you have to work for that level of "tweaked" though.

Works until you bend the frame, spindle, coil bucket, or LCA frame mounts. Then you're basically fucked.

That was a conversation Jberry and I were having. I didn't do the heimed uppers or even put the TC gussets. I used the Moog camber caster bolts and havent had allignment issues. My pivots were pretty bent so I figured I would solid mount when I rebuilt them. It has yet to be a problem so I haven't worried about it.

Yup. Which is why I say buy heimed to start with. $200 upgrade is a lot cheaper than buying new $800 uppers down the road leaving you with a non-heimed upper you can’t sell because you’re not selling paired lowers to go with it.

There's no general info thread on Switch-Pros that I could find that isn't in the 3rd gen or 2nd gen sections. But I just want to let you guys know what a stand up company they are. I just installed my 8100 unit that I bought through the guys at Camburg awhile ago, but just now installed it. I've been having issues trying to program it and sync to the iPhone app. After a few emails back and forth with Switch-Pros customer service, and trying some different trouble shooting methods I got a phone call from them today. They offered a full replacement/upgrade to their 9100 unit, shipped direct to me. I'm pretty blown away.

Ok so I have a 2012 dclb 4x4 I want opinions on a good long travel kit that isn’t over the top expensive. Or better yet just give opinions on any kit cheap or expensive.

If I was going to go out of the box for the front - straight bolt on, no fuss no muss 4x4 2nd gen I'd go Total Chaos race kit. Then there's always the regular Total Chaos kit, Camburg, Solo, Dirt King...

There are no cheap kits - only expensive, more expensive, and f*cking expensive, even if you buy used :)

To really answer your question about the cheap(est) kit, catch Solo on a 20% off event they have occasionally (Black Friday and Christmas recently).

For the rear there's DMZ, Giant, Total Chaos, and Camburg; the first two are real long travel spring under kits. The second two are spring under, but don't perform as well...
