I've tried searching this forum and part #'s but still confused. Are all the exhaust systems with the exclusion of the DCLB exactly the same? For instance does a AC sport exhaust fit an DCSB OR? Also my father has a '16 DCSB SR5 and I have a '17 AC M/T sport. I drive his truck quite a bit and I could be way off base but when I jump on mine I hear mostly exhaust sound but when I punch his I hear mostly engine noise.
    Thanks

Thanks for sharing the link - one of the few that actually have some Dyno data to back-up claims of improved performance. Did you actually notice any increase in performance with this exhaust or mostly just a more beefy exhaust note? How does it sound at cruising speeds?

I was going to spend $550 for a TRD. This system has a more beefy sound. There is not much drone cruising but I like the sound at all speeds. Truthfully none of the aftermarket catback exhaust systems are going to add a lot of horsepower. Also do not waste money on anything except a 2.5" exhaust. These engines just don't offer much for a huge gain from exhaust and some have had issues with performance loss using 3" exhausts. The engines require a certain amount of back pressure that is lost with larger pipes. They all come with large exhaust tips. I am very happy with my combination of a K&N cold air intake and the Gibson exhaust. I would say that I have much better throttle response. I feel I have gained more torque than horsepower. I would guess maybe a 15 hp gain with mine which is ok for under $450 total. Most people I knew with Gibson were V8 engines and all were happy with them. For the price I paid I figured if I wasn't happy I could recover most of the money just selling it on Craigslist. 7 months later I have no desire to change it. Sounds better now than when I installed it. It did come with a lifetime warranty. I do know 2 people that bought magnaflow and only kept them 1 week and then sold them. They said the drone was horrible. Also note the OVTune is programmed for your stock 2.5" size exhaust.

I wouldn't trust any manufacturer's dynos. I would wager just a small peak HP gain for loss of torque near the bottom. It might feel faster because of the noise, but doubt it's anywhere near their claims. You would probably need intake/header/exhaust and then a tune to actually make power all around, but then again we don't have traditional exhaust headers either.

Unless they have evidence that's neutral party testing, then buyer beware.

And if the performance of anything every reads 'up to xx' that means from 0 to xx. And you'll likely get close to 0, and nary a leg to stand on.

If you want an exhaust, fine, just don't expect the performance to change.

I was pretty disappointed at the entire exhaust setup on these trucks. Completely non-traditional exhaust manifolds. Before I bought it I just assumed that good headers would be out soon. Not with this engine. Unfortunately I guess this is the future. I am good with my intake and exhaust. I did not expect unrealistic results but was pleasantly surprised with better overall throttle response. The factory fall-flat take off is gone. The only real performance gain option seems to be the tuned y-pipes but they have a "not for street use" disclaimer attached. Of course there is the OVTune but thats a hefty $700. Overall I am very happy with mine. Money well spent.
