285/70/17’s with a 2" leveling kit?

right now I have 265/65/17’s on my truck, it’s got a 2 inch leveling kit, and I was wondering if y’all think 285/70/17’s would fit without rubbing too much

 

Do you take your truck offroad? If so, it will rub.

Depending on the actual size of the tire you buy, and your alignment you may not rub on the street, or maybe very minor rubbing at full lock if you remove your front mud flaps.

Basically no amount of lift will remove rubbing, when you flex the suspension the tire will still hit. Maybe a body lift would stop it but those aren’t really preferred.

I do take it off road here and there on the weekends, but 90% of my driving is on roads. Think if I got 16” steelie’s and got tires with the same width/ ratio just smaller rim it would help? I mean it would essentially decrease the circumference adding an inch of room (vertically anyways) right?

 

I have a 3" suspension lift kit and I had to do the following:

-remove the mudflaps
-trim some plastic where the mudflaps mount
-cab mount chop
-trim and cut the fender liners back
-beat in the pinch weld
-remove the fender liners completely

AND I STILL RUB OFFROAD!

For reference, I am on 285/75/16's on 16" steelies 16x8 with 4.5" backspacing

 

You might be better off going with a tall skinny tire. I think the width is what becomes the problem most of the time.

do you go offroad a lot or are you wanting to know if it will fit for everyday street driving? i have 285/75r16 and i cant make it rub on the road after trimming a little bit of the inside of my fender flare where the mudflap attaches. i haven't done any serious trails yet but light offroad trails do not cause rubbing for me.

 

I just came from the tire shop. Installed 285/70 17’s and they rub everywhere.
I removed the mud flaps and still rubs when turning. I used a heat gun to push the bottom lip of the fender and it helped, but still rubs just a little when backing up and turning at almost full lock.I’m bummed because I can’t keep my flaps.
FYI, I have 5100’s set at the max (that gives you a 2” 3/4 lift I believe).

I had to cut a little piece of fender flare where yours rubs.

 

I used the heat gun and it worked. I performed surgery in the flaps and the one on the right it’s installed and it doesn’t rub but the driver side rubs like crazy. It got dark so I’ll continue tomorrow.

 

I’m riding at about 2” in the front and I’m clearing 285/75/17 (34’s not 33’s). CMC, pinchweld beatdown, heatgun to reform the entire rear of the liner, and cut out all of the inside portion of the flare and a little bit of the fender. They will fit just, get to cutting.

 

I had a 285/70/17 nitto on a 2" leveling kit and didn't rub maybe the offset or backspacing of my wheels not sure. Like @geekhouse23 said you most likely going to need to remove mud flaps and do A cmc aka cab mount chop
