Curious what you think about those new Yokohama MTs. Those intrigued me when they came out, but haven't seen anyone running them yet.

Clinometer: super handy for leveling the truck for camping.
Volume adjustment side effects: on my TRD OR, which I know is a different head unit than the SR, it's very easy to touch the screen inadvertently with a finger while adjusting volume. Depending on how the screen is set up it can trigger pause, play or tuning or even a non-audio command. Sounds like something you'd realize but all it takes is a light touch with your pinky and you don't feel it.

At $5000, James Baroud is laughing at you!

Our RTT will be more affordable than a james baroud? Are we missing something?

I must be missing something. Your pre-order page says $5000. Quote " The Pre-Order reserves your spot in line for the ultralight Platform camper, starting at $5000 shipped. "

That’s for the whole thing, not just the tent. So you’ve got the bed rack / shell system with doors and sides plus the tent on the top which can be entered from the bed. Far more than just a hardshell tent for $5000.

I see, I will wait and see how this progresses. Any idea what the weight for the entire set up will be? Dakar springs need to come with that by the looks of it.

200-250 lbs depending on configuration. They are still finalizing design so it’s not 100% yet but a big focus is keeping it light yet rugged.

Not any more than a traditional RTT and a rack. Its actually super lightweight like @Shellshock mentioned. We run the Deaver stage 1's (lightest 'expedition' option) on our 17 tacoma fully loaded for camping. Well within GVWR of Tacoma.

Our tent is actually about 20 pounds lighter than a comparably sized James Baroud. And out lower canopy is only 100 pounds with the aluminum sides.

So a Baroud mounted on a fiberglass topper would be over 100# heavier than our setup at a minimum. More likely around 150-200# with comparable functionality.

About 250 lbs. I’m running the Deaver u402 stage 1 springs and they’re perfect with the camper and about 100 lbs of gear in the bed. Don’t even know the camper is there off road.

Stronger for Longer. Now that's a slogan :)

I think of this, but probably because that's all I've been thinking about for a while:

Maybe we can do a collaborative project with those folks @wileydavis. Could be some synergies.
