Is the DOT marker the lite spot on the tire? The same way the yellow dot used to be. Have you had good luck with the beads? I've heard such mixed reviews.

since its a bigger tire, it serves two purposes - allows you to debead it easy by simply using soap and walking along the beads and not tipping over and falling on your ass and the other is it gives room for the tire to set the bead off the ground when you air it up

yes this is what i was taught, the marking (if tires have it usually means the lighter or runout parts of a tire) and should be paired with the heavier part of the wheel - in this case its my valve stem as i run 90* metal valves. I have ran with beads for two different sets of tires, this being the third one with success. just have to measure the correct amount. Beads do not solve balancing issues with bent rims tho.

since newer tires dont all carry the yellow dot anymore, it is by general practice that it is around the DOT marking and manufacture numbers.

hah, that has some truth lol

@Bocsy44 so the black restore finish is still black and no runs after a week of rain, will see if it continues to stay this way
