What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I had some scrap vinyl I picked up from work, I cut some card stock to make a template then traced the template, cut out the vinyl and used a heat gun to stretch them into place, the could have turned out better but for my first time wrapping anything I think they look good, they really made the truck look more aggressive than I thought they would, and help a little with the LED's in the housing. Not that they needed it, that have a really good cut off to begin with but I want to make sure I'm not being, "one of those guys..."

I mostly was doing it as a test, didn't expect to like them, or for them to last so long, I may end up getting the T-Rex eBay fiberglass lids and modifying them to follow the contouring my vinyl ones do.

Me too! i look at vehicles with front state tags and i'm thankful NC doesn't. i don't think they look good on Tacoma's, there's not really a good spot to mount them.

UT requires them, and I just jammed it in the windshield on the driver side. The holes aren't drilled in the front bumper, its still just got the little divots so I successfully argued that the truck wasn't "equipped" with the ability for a front plate. Not sure I could get lucky with that one again though...

Just don't be like my old roomate from NC, and put a Wyoming plate on the front for "vanity". Got to meet a few state troopers that way.

 

I ran around with a Utah one for a while in my windshield and never got messed with here in NC but then again most don't care around here and unless they see it down where it is supposed to be they believe it's just for vanity.

 

Low and center is what I think looks best. None at all would be great, but not legal in the state I live in.

 

I got a ticket here in Utah for not running a front plate, I didn't have one for years out here though with no issues. Honestly the only reason I got the ticket was because I was pulled over for speeding (not in my Tacoma) and the cop let me off on the speeding but gave me the front plate ticket. If I didn't have the ugly holes there I'd remove the front plate

 

I think NC is the only state that does not require them someone correct me if their state doesn't require them. I have gotten messed with in Ca for not having a front plate I made the CHP call the NC DMV and have them explain it to him because he couldn't comprehend it.

 

Mine has the ugly holes bc it was originally a Va truck but the ones bought new here in NC those cars dealers never drill or put F license plate holders on so the factory bumpers are nice and clean.

Yeah, apparently Ogden cops up north are picky about it. I think it is like anything else that is a minor infraction, it all depends on who is on duty that day.

He did say that he saw it in the front window, and "gave me credit for trying"

I've been running around here in CT without my front plate, ever since I took off my bull bar and mounted my light bar behind the grill...

Now you fuckers jinxed me and I'm going to get a ticket on my home from work... WATCH.
