    Hello my name is Linda.
    2010 4x4 Tacoma 66000 miles.
I reside in the Pacific Northwest.
I like my truck, I used to love it.
Then came the slew of recall notices.
Have you all experienced the same thing? Major Recalls. I'm shocked.
Took my truck in for service today and found out my front and rear right side wheel bearings needed replacement, I need a mechanic bad. Come Home to another Toyota document in the mail.
    What is up Toyota?
    How about you?
    Thanks for listening.

    I love toyota recalls.
    Free labor. . Free parts.
I have gotten. Free frame replacement and free leaf spring replacement
Wife has a Civic.. honda has been a pain!
Civic has massive peeling paint but honda says "it's not the right color for recall"
Sun visor is known to break..hers did..
They act like they haven't heard of an issue.
Toyota brought all recalls to my attention. then they did them free and gave me a loaner while I waited!!

    •my cost $0
    • toyota cost around $11-13k
What's not to like ? :yay:

There are a few great vendors here that sell, entire, upgraded hub/Wheel bearings.

When do you consider it a lemon.
My last recall was about the Frame.
I just got another one today about Propeller Shaft Universal joints.
Says something about there quality control all the way around.

If your truck has lived it's life on this coast chances are it won't need a frame.

These are the most reliable vehicles on the market.. Not perfect but way better that a Nissan, Chevy or a Ford.

Lemon Laws vary state by state. A simple Google search will show you the requirements for a product to fall under the Lemon Law in your state.

Most states require for automobiles that the defect be a significant issue the automanufacturer has to fail at least three times to identify and fix.

Tacomas are known for frame rust. Don’t like it? Don’t buy a Tacoma. I feel like no one can buy a Tacoma and then act shocked when their frame rusts. We all knew or should have known.

You should not be calling Lemon Law when Toyota is doing recalls, paying for parts and labor and taking initiative to resolve issues.

It's 8 years old. No lemons for you unless you have some express written warranty that's been violated.

You can go to Toyota's site, register, enter your vin and find out about all eligible recalls. Get them all knocked out at once.

Or just trade it on your vehicle of choice. I have a feeling you'll get to spend similar quality time on their enthusiasts sites.

Honestly, recalls are par for the course and not a big deal to me at least. Definitely doesn't make it a lemon. Toyota is acknowledging they made errors in production and are willing to fix it for you on their dime, and even provide a loaner vehicle if your truck is required to stay with the dealer for an extended amount of time. Have you looked at your frame? I took my 06 in for the frame inspection and it passed with no issues here in the PNW. Leaf spring recall didn't apply as I've already replaced the stock leafs with OME dakars. The pedal recall didn't apply as I didn't have the all weather floor mats, thank goodness, as I don't think I'd like them chopping my gas pedal up.

How many miles are on your truck? As far as I know my driver's side wheel bearing is still factory at 176k miles. I'm about to replace my passenger side for the 2nd time in 34k miles. I have a feeling I didn't get the axle nut torqued correctly, my fault, and that led to premature failure. These trucks will last quite a while with basic maintenance.

Also, which dealership is this? They could be trying to take advantage of the fact, no offense, that your a woman and think you would have agreed to the bs repairs. Not saying that's what's going on, but definitely get a second opinion from a different mechanic.

Just because you got a notice in the mail doesn't mean your truck needs it. Also, the dealer telling you that you need new bearings doesn't necessarily mean you need them. We often refer to them as stealerships for a reason. Search on your own, and actively ask questions, on here to figure out what you need and what you don't.

This place is a wealth of knowledge and these trucks are, generally, extremely reliable. This forum is more informative and friendly than any other vehicle forum I've even heard of. You'll learn to love your Taco again, trust me.

    Welcome to the family.

    Agreed

Both fronts, I'd say maybe. Front and rear on one side, bullshit.
