What is so wrong with asking for info and photos only from people that have achieved what I'm looking for?

It's like asking for people that know French to tell me how to say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in French. Then getting a bunch of people telling you that they want to tell you but they don't speak French or they only took French in high school but think they know. LOL

Seriously though, I have been around TW long enough to know that some threads are gold while most just turn into a pile of opinions. The subject of lifting is an example of the latter with some gold nuggets scattered throughout.

If anyone has achieved 3" on a 3rd Gen and wishes to share their info and experience ....great! Thank you.

If on the other hand no one has done it or no one wishes to share....fine.

Being in the same decision process, and while it is indeed a silly question, are you measuring 3” off baseline, or in addition to stock height for your OR? I have talked to many vendors and, as you pointed out, came to a decision to go with a highly adjustable kit (Icon8) and plan to start it at 2” “over stock” (which gives a higher unloaded height over baseline) to support my 285s. I felt pretty comfortable as the installation instructions for my kit clearly specifies the wheel/tires expected, something I did not see in some other install kits instructions. Which vendors documentation did you find helpful in your hunt? I’m expecting to balance the handling vs suspension lift trade off this way. I am still receiving parts but will happily post pics and outcomes once complete and as clearly you too are a do your homework type, I’ll be very interested in your experience with vendor selection.

I'm measuring in addition to stock height. I've decided to go with Old Man Emu. I think I can get close to 2.5" and if I add a top spacer maybe get the rest. I bought the kit (including UCAs) from HeadStrong Off Road and the bushing from East Coast Gear Supply. The items are currently being shipped I am probably going to install them in the next couple weeks. I'm out of town for a while so I'm not quite sure exactly what's being delivered as far as documentation.

Awesome photo for comparison. The 12 on the rim is the offset?

The EGCS bushing tool is being passed around town right now. Couple of guys are discussing it in the Charlotte thread.

A 2" lift on a third gen is the same as a 3" lift on a second gen, just for clarification. So keep that in mind.

I guess my 2.25” and 285,70,17’s just don’t cut it here. Darn.
