    Hi Everyone-

Happy New year! Hope everyone is surviving the deep freeze in the North East, or not elsewhere.

Love my new pre-owned '16 Tacoma 4wd stick which I bought with less than 6k miles.
Will serve as my daily driver and also for tow duty of motorcycle to the track once we see asphalt in the Summer, if ever.

I'm in pretty good physical shape, but since I've been driving the truck (4 months) I've developed lower back problems and pain in the lower left hip. I've moved the seat forward tried cushions, etc, but nothing seems to help. Has anyone here experienced similar issues?
Love the vehicle and want to keep it, but being in pain is not cool.

Would love to hear your thoughts.
    Thanks,

Some people are adding spacers to the bottom of the seat (where the chair bolts to the bottom of the cab) to raise it about an inch. Seems to help a bit. Not saying its safe but seems to be most popluar

    Rear pockets empty?

You're far from the first to have this issue. Haven't seen many solutions though.

It's 'possible' that a high end auto upholstery shop could help by adding, removing or reshaping some padding on the seat. I've seen it done on other rides, particularly for sports cars.

Thanks for all your help. Will try to raise seat via spacers. Should reduce the angle of impact to back. I really love my truck. Again, many thanks.

4wd stick? well, there's your problem. Less gas, more clutch from 2nd to 3rd.

Just kidding man, Hope your back gets better. Try Yoga (haters gonna hate)

OP, have you tried adding the spacers yet? I bought a ‘16 TRD Off-Road on July 4th of last year and have also been having a lot of back pain. I also love my truck, so I need to figure something out. Otherwise, I’ll continue to live in pain, because the truck isn’t going anywhere.

    Hope you’re feeling well.

    Terry Mc42-

The 1" rubber spacers lifting the rear seat seat helped tremendously. This along with cushion and lumbar back rest. Looks like a geriatric ward, but my back is not longer killing me.

Nice! Do you have any pictures of the spacers, or any recommendation on where to get them? Werew they hard to install?

Spacers were rubber 1" swimming pool return plugs. Take the OEM rear screws that are used to bolt down the seat and have a hardware store match the thread and upsize 1 inch with washers. Real simple. The cushion is a memory foam piece that I bought at Walmart for $25 and the rear lumbar support cushion was one I bought on ebay for $11. Voila, situation resolved. My back is 100% and I love my truck.
GL and PM me if you have any additional questions.
