Thank you, dates back to the 1920's, just got it repainted couple days ago.

Unknown lift, maybe 2" I don't know how to ID it, and would rather set it back to stock.
Interesting thoughts. Does anyone know the salient features, such as are there differences in the input and output spline counts that would require a different clutch plate, or input gear to the stock Gen 3 Transfer case, and additionally info such as bellhousing bolt patterns since I think (?) the bell housings are integral with the front case half and not removable as a unit. And......overall length of the RC61F vs the RC62F, location of the transmission mount, and the various electrical connections such as backup light, etc. Tons of nagging details to be considered here when you start swapping major driveline components.

Great pics, I miss woodcutting season. 1/2 cord of pine and fir means that’s probably over 2000 lbs you got loaded back there, reverse will lag a bit. Hope your suspension, and especially your bedsides are beefed up! Great partner you have there!

Car thieves scrape auto forums looking for plate numbers. Depending on your state a person can get your personal information by paying a small fee, or checking online smog records. Repo agents can get your info by performing a skip trace, and there are websites that will have this information as well if you pay (some sites are bullshit though).

Honestly, not too hard to find someone if you have their plate.

The load shown was a Sugar Pine snag I fell. Don't believe I had a ton on it, did not sag bad, truck handles weight very good. I've verified somewhat when I had 40 bags of steer manure @35 lbs a bag in the back, around 1300 lbs. Except for starting and hills, truck did great, shift down on hills, still got 23 mpg on the hwy. I try not to force wood in, I've seen too many truck beds that were crunched. Most people up here use firewood for heat. I dont need reverse much, link looked like quite a bit of work and money.

    Mostly stuff I built.

Input shaft differences I do not know...

Hilux appears to use the same transfer case as Tacoma in the higher option model and a manual case similar to the J pattern FJ auto case in the lower option model.

The integrated bell housing went away with the with the RA transmissions. The RC is a separate unit from the transmission case.

    Case length is the same.

    Bellhousing depth is the same.

Bellhousing to transmission bolt pattern is the same.

Bellhousing to engine pattern I don’t know. I assume not.

Reverse light switch is same part in same location.

I can safely say this because I was able to rent a 2016 Hilux for a couple of days on my last trip to the Philippines. I did this with the express purpose of doing some checking on these items. The physical characteristics of the two transmissions are identical. Obviously I was not able to pull the transmission and check spline counts but if they are the same it would bolt up.

They could just look for bros overlanding in the Walmart parking lot, lots easier and those rigs have the best parts, clean too! :)

Ah, good old dry stuff too. I used to cut oak and pinyon for my year-round cabin heated by just a woodstove. I really miss going out every fall to cut. Felt like I accomplished something and it was so much more of a whole body and mind workout than one could ever get at a gym.

I heard somewhere that reverse is geared between 1st and 2nd. Why? No idea, but I dont know if I have ever seen a reverse gear taller than 1st. Wondering if that is possible and/or how to make the 2lo mod finally work :)
