What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Ride was good with 887s without sway bar. Those coils are stiff enough to compensate so you won't roll around nearly as bad as you would on factory coils. Its pretty easy to take on and off so if you don't like it, just throw it back on.

Really debating hard on getting some nerf bars, or sliders, but am I the only one who thinks they make the truck look lower?

 

Sliders!

 

I know these aren't exactly "sliders" but they have the look and would serve the purpose of basic daily driving occasional offroad etc. I just wonder if they are a clean fit, I always hated how nerf bars kind of had a drop to them.

I got it and had a leveling kit and nothing trimming surprisingly

 

Those don't hang down like the nerf bars which is good for your ground clearance, but just don't try to use them as sliders.

 

For a couple hundred more you could get sliders though correct? It also depends on your needs and usage

How far does it hang down? Don't need it catching on something and draining my oil pan while I'm wheeling.

 

Maybe 1.5". Do you have a front skid plate?

 

OEM...no aftermarket skids right now unfortunately

 

Finally got my Morimoto 40” bar wired up with an Air On Board switch... Thanks to @fergyz for the help!

Had to do a little trouble shooting when the switch stayed illuminated even while the truck was off... Apparently AOB swapped the green and red wires on the harness since the last AOB switch I wired.

Took a paper clip, removed the pins/wire from the harness, and swapped the wires. Works perfect now!

 

I'd probably be a little leery of wheeling with the fumoto if I didn't have a front aftermarket skid ... of course if you aren't doing anything hardcore then you should be perfectly fine.

 

Haven't installed mine. Just had an oil change about 500 miles ago. What I'm wondering is how you incorporated it with the skid plate. How would you turn the lever to open and close? Screwdriver? Haven't thought that out just yet. Will have to have a short hose left in place to pull through the drilled opening on the skid.

 

My fumoto did come with a hose that you can attach to the valve opening and run into your oil waste pan.

I installed mine with my skid off since I was making a video for it. My skid does have a large circular opening to allow for oil to drain out when doing an oil change, and there does seem to be enough room to get some kind of tool up there to manipulate the valve release but I bet it will be a little tricky the first time. I'll let you know in 6,000 miles.

 

You’ll want an aftermarket skid plate soon. Install it then.

 

Wheelers ubolt flip kit and 1" spacers to finally get full travel in the rear. Shocks rode around too compressed when I had all my tools in the back.

 

That does stick out more than I need. Guess I'll stick with the regular bolt right now until I get skids.
