Is the phone supposed to ring exclusively through the Entune system or is it supposed to ring on the phone and Entune system? When my iPhone rings, the first 2-3 seconds I can hear on my phone, then it rings only through the speakers on the truck. Is this the way it is supposed to be. And if not how can I change it?

What kind/model of phone? I imagine each handles it a bit different, but when I get a call on my S8+ it just rings through the speakers. Earlier versions of droid may handle it differently, as may different versions of ios.

Edit missed the iPhone part. Which one? Is it up to date?

Iphone 8 with the latest IOS, I think it is an entune issue. My old 2014 with entune also had issues, if I was playing music through bluetooth and turned my headlights off then on again the music would completely stop playing and i had to power cycle the radio to get it to play audio again, I have found entune to be a bit quirky

My iPhone has issues every now and then as well. Sometimes I have to disconnect and connect the USB cable multiple times for it to play music.

Well that's a good question. To OP - Are you connecting through usb or bluetooth? I connect through bluetooth.

I am connected through Bluetooth using a 5s iphone, and yes, it's up to date.

The Bluetooth might be the issue. The older iPhone models don’t have very good Bluetooth capabilities.

Tend to agree on the Bluetooth capabilities of the Iphones, even worse if you are using a case, the signal seems to fade even worse. I’m having better luck with the Iphone8 bluetooth.

Everything, including text messages works fine with the 5s. I was just wondering if the phone was supposed to ring first, or if all the sound was supposed to come through the truck speakers.:)
