    Hello,

New to the Tacoma world, currently mulling over the suspension options for my 2015 DC OR. The goal is a 2.5 inch lift and running 255/85-R16 Tires.

I live in Southern California so this is for mostly playing in the desert while also using the truck as a daily driver. I have done a little bit of research, and I think I want to stay around $2000 for a complete kit. So I have come up with these two options. Now I'm wondering is the Fox kit is worth $400 more??

Option 1: Headstrong Bilstein 6112/5160 w/resi Kit with Camburg Moog UCAs and HS 3-Leaf AAL - Cost: $1859.99

Option 2: Headstrong Fox Level 2 Kit, Fox 2.5 front, 2.0 rear w/ resi with Camburg Moog UCAs and HS 3-Lead AAL - Cost: $2259.04

I would appreciate any input or other options I should consider. Thanks!!

    Ill give you a bump.

I'm looking at the same setups but with Total Chaos UCA and Dakars, looking to run 285/70r17s

Ill be honest... A little of both. Will probably end up being a little more mall crawling though. I havent done much wheeling, but hoping to change that.

It will definitely not be a mall crawler. Years ago I had a CJ and used to do some pretty aggressive wheeling. Now I have a wife and kid, so I got the Tacoma thinking it would be a good way to get back into off-roading with the family. We plan on going camping/weekend trips into some pretty remote areas.

I'm leaning towards the Fox setup now.

    Thanks for the input everyone!

Not trying to thread jack here, but how long do you think the 6112's will last before a rebuild or replacement is needed? I suppose the question is also will the Fox, Kings or others last as long between rebuilds?

Considering low speed off road and everyday driving not trying to be a high speed desert runner. I was thinking most would last around 50k miles or so, is that accurate or does it decrease with "performance" shock/struts? If I recall the Ford Raptor suspension is supposed to be rebuilt every 50k, but you know nobody does it! haha

I went with the extended travel fox setup with LR UCAs and Dakars. Very happy with it.
