Mostly interior mods. Hood work leds, in-cab outlet (I have it switched to the front plug for a cabin heater in the winter), 400w all the time on the inverter, heated mirror add-on, and 4x4 switch illumination. Up coming I want a level kit and hood scoop light bar and possibly line the bed with the led strips.
I didn't want to pay the stealership $9 bucks a piece for those brown neowedge bulbs and this is the best work around I could find IMO.

First things first, get yourself some of these 3mm amber (or whatever color you want) 12v, no resistor needed, LED's off of ebay. I got mine for $13.90 for a 10-pack but I don't see them anymore but these ones should work.

Other LED neo wedge bulbs don’t fit as tight as the OEM bulbs and they have a narrow beam facing the wrong way so your switch won’t be lit up.

Next, remove all of your switches that are burnt out and note the wiring of the bottom two wires of the plug. Green will be positive and Green/White will be negative. The switches aren’t all wired the same! Sometimes the bottom wire is negative and sometimes it isn’t...

    Remove the brown bulb.

Score divider with a razor. Break it out with pliers, it comes right out.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Take your LED and put two bends in the leads so it'll sit right in the middle of the switch. Also note that LED's are polarity sensitive and the longer leg must be connected to positive.

Rough up the surface of the contact on the switch and solder the leads to the contacts.

    [IMG][IMG]

Test the LED by putting a 9-12v source on the pins and tweak the LED with pliers or a pick so that it shines directly in the middle of the switch.

Put switches back in, you’re done!

Here’s before and after with everything lit up that’s supposed to be. They still dim nicely but they are a little bit brighter than the OEM’s just fyi.

ya know, I never thought to just use plain old LED's
and here I was stressing over which LED Neo wedge ones to get, then there is the month or two of waiting for them from China...... FML, now I can just go down to the parts store and pick up some cheap LED's Break out the soldering iron and smell the sweet fumes of flux once again...

@D2. He mentions that these LEDs don't need a resistor, most do as 12v will pop them.

I feel your pain!! It’s almost impossible to order neo wedge bulbs that fit! If the tolerance is slightly off then it just flops around in the socket.

I tried ordering a few different types and re-soldering the led on its side and that was a bust too.

Could just throw some t3 neowedge LEDs in those slots and be done with it. Just have to take a measure of the stock bulb and make sure the replacement isn’t longer than stock otherwise switch won’t actuate.

Lighting on mine came out good and no hotspots since the LED isn’t directly pointed at the switch face

Yeah.. I got the same ones in Amber and they didn’t Light well enough for me since they don’t even point at the switch front.
