As you read, we'll be leaving Thursday, so it won't work for you anyway. :notsure:

But, should you decide to want to leave with us, welcome to meet up with me in Lex on the way or the rest of us in E-town.

Yup, That's mine. But that's an old picture when the back was still drooping and before I added lights to the outside sides of the habitat. Thanks for drooling. PM me sometime and we can grab a beer and talk trucks. Welcome to TW.:cheers: Check out my build thread, though it is in definite need of an update.

I've not seen many. I'm definitely the only cement color matched.

Word of advice, only because I didn't listen to these fine folks who I'm happy to know and now call my "friends" o_O  just kidding guys :D

Get the armor first. Then the rest. You'll need suspension with all that weight you're adding.
Need to see how your stock stuff handles the weight. Don't be surprised when the MPGs fall off the cliff drastically.
Can't imagine what you gotta pack to go hunt out west and still be able to be mobile.

I agree. I did armor and covered storage, building on the interior with drawers and such isn't even planned this year. By the time I put all pelfreybilt armor, skids and sliders, I was dragging on my bump stops with my habitat and being loaded down. Figure out what weight you plan to haul and what you can afford. I know the built in drawers look great and such, but honestly, totes work well enough for most people. I added so much weight and such that the truck couldn't do some of the things I wanted, so now I'm correcting suspension. To each their own and best of luck with your build. If you have any questions, the people here will certainly help. They've been super helpful.

Also, one of the first mods I did, especially if you intend to cover the bed for storage was an automated lock for the back. Probably one of the first things I suggest anyone does to their truck. Makes life so much easier.

Good luck with the build. Keep us posted. :sawzall::welder::bananadance::yes:

Make a plan (and stick with it) for ALL the mods you'll be doing. There is more than enough info available (from manufacturers, other owners, etc) as far as what suspension, tires, wheels, etc....you will need to handle weight you'll be adding. I did suspension FIRST, then added bumpers, winch, skids, sliders, etc... Could not have worked out any better. This allowed me to have a capable truck while building....over a 2 year time frame.

Some of my "plan" changed as I went. I found better options (price mainly) but stuck with the basic premise of what I was wanting.

After Harlan and the mystery dent in my passenger side door/rocker, I really wish I would've had sliders on. If they could've prevented it even.

Note for us for later: my truck GPS is outdated and gets you legitimately going the wrong fucking way going to LBL the way we went last year. Specifically, the point where the Wendell Ford Western Kentucky Parkway crosses/merges with I-69. So basically ignore whatever the hell the robots say and keep going on the western kentucky parkway when you get there.

    I'm SO excited!!! :yay:

I need to begin getting my gear ready. Truck is nearly there.
My tent isn't even packed up, had to let it ventilate and dry after Black Mountain.

While we were @ Harlan, I smacked the left rear bedside against a tree limb. It hit where the TRD decal is at. Didn't notice it until just a few days ago, but there was a dent there. :( I removed the cubby inside the bed and pushed on it. About 99% of it popped back. You can see a small crease if you look hard enough, but it doesn't show unless you really study on it. Lucky I guess.

My phone did a trick on me on the way to Harlan. I know the way and it STILL tricked me into making a wrong turn.

    Recalculating....

I'm talking about going in the north of LBL like we did last year (and also how we left this weekend)
