My ARE Overland cap was a different color originally, Toyota Inferno. Harvey totaled my MGM. I replaced with a QS.....then got the topper sprayed with Linex Body Armour....same stuff ARE uses.
Two must haves, Windoors for easy access on either side, and fold down cab window so you can clean both the cab and cap windows when needed.
I had LED Lights put it, they come on when you open the Windoors...there is also a switch that will turn off the lights if you leave the Windoors open for extended times.
I also had battery powered LED’s that I originally had with a Gatortrax retractable cover before the ARE cap, I put these under the truck rail, though not really needed for lighting since the cap LEDs are plenty bright....just didn’t want to trash them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FPOSNZK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The BedRug is great because it’s removable for easy cleaning. It does lay perfectly flat....the image is when I first got it.
I also ‘sealed’ everything as much as I could, weather stripping on tailgate and this: https://www.amazon.com/BLOCK-Tailga...rd_wg=vQv6e&psc=1&refRID=Z47HBMBDBZKFM0E0GH66

    And this:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IPQWXZQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then I used clear silicone for the other few spots by the tailgate/bed.
I also used some cut pieces of the weather stripping, just 2 pcs about 2 inches each, to extend the rear door seal to the edge of the cap.
I have zero water intrusion even when washing the truck with a hose.

Topper was sold a long time ago man. I lost a lot of money on that thing but how the ball bounces sometimes!

thanks for responding to the guy responding to me! Looks great. I'm still trying to figure out what I want. I have a tonneau cover that I like but I'm eventually gonna need more room. Georgia traverse in march and the moab next year, with two girls, so I do need storage. Honestly, I was happy until @tweakit88 had to start this topper crap talk the other day! Wife still says they look like her granddads truck so I have my work cutout for me.

did a quick search on here plus looked at leer's website and found a thread from '13. did you look at the xr? reasons for picking the R? also, did you look at century as I heard they were they same. I apologize for all the questions.

Never liked them either till my michigan trip. 3 girls and my wife and only a tonneau cover=not even close to enough room and impossible to be organized.

I looked at the XR but decided it wasn't worth the extra $300 or so for a frameless rear window, which is really the only difference. I decided to save that money and put it towards getting windoor sliders. I looked at Century and yes they are made in the same factory. Just decided to go with Leer.

Haha! I know.....I know. It’s an old habit when I played on a Men’s USVBA indoor volleyball team....between matches or anytime you go outside you take off your court shoes on with the flip flops others wore those gawd awful looking Nike plastic slip on’s.... .....and being a surf dude, I like flip flops with socks when on road trips since I like to drive in my socks. Wife and daughter always give me crap about it....except I’m a dinosaur at my age and I can do what I want...sort of....kind of. Worse is shorts and socks with flip flops.....they won’t sit with me at the restaurant. :annoyed:

    Exactly!
I had a Gatortrax retractable. 4 of us took a trip out west to Big Bend National Park area...after that trip decided I needed to get a shell. Way better, easier access, etc. plus I get a rack to put my surfboards on the outside vs inside the truck bed.
