I have a hard time believing that these are city owned streets.
Cities and/or Counties normally take over and own streets once they are completed.

 

These weren't completed. Based on those pics they were cleared, but not improved or paved.

 

Yeah, this crossed my mind as well.

 

Looks like there may be a few of the lots for sale on sites like Trulia/Zillow etc. Maybe the subdivision has just not been finished out?

 

Probably wouldn't hurt to call the City of Bastrop and ask them directly? Maybe even call Bastrop County Police? I'll place a call and see what I can find out.

 

When I first got my truck, i spent a lot of time roaming the eastern side of Austin based on TO maps... so flat. I went 2-3 times exploring and then just went west. I guess now with the better suspension, we could try it again and just go hella fast!

 

Dont tip them off so they go close it! Call the county or the city... i wouldnt call the cops.
