Fresh out the paint shop

I finally got my truck out of the paint shop today so I thought I’d share a couple of pictures of before and after. I decided to change the color from silver sky metallic to stone cold grey. The lighting wasn’t that great in the shop and we finished it at 10:30. I’ll take some better pictures during the day.

That looks great! Pretty crazy... I've only seen one other (won't say the name haha) color swapped 3rd gen.

 

Thanks guys, since I had to repaint the truck, I wanted to make my truck unique. I also bought scooped hood since I was painting the thing.

 

I like the darker shade, reminds me of the ford lead foot grey , and porsche/audi nardo grey

The typical sun warp roof on my black taco. So I had it professionally painted (not some
Macco shop either) and always got complements on it. But I hate to say it I regretted it. Idk why, but everyone told me not to do it because Toyota’s for some odd reason lose value when you paint them anything else but the originally factory color. I have no clue, but I was told this multiple times. Well funny thing is when I was getting ready to sell/trade it in it was always brought up. Weird.

 

My dad and a few of my friends told me the same thing about the value depreciating when you change the color, I don’t plan on selling the truck anytime soon so that didn’t bother my, plus I already went this far in this build. The truck was vandalized, soI thought, what the hell, why not change the color since I’m repainting it and it would be a waste of a paint job to keep it the same color.

I like what you did there tho, it looks good. How high is your truck lifted?

About 2.75 inches

 

When you trade that in no-ne will even know it' not a factory color.

 

In for some more pics, but why did they have your interior ripped out too (at least door panel in the one pic) did you do some custom paint on your trim, or some soundproofing/stereo stuff too?

Looks good OP.

 

I believe its so they can paint the door jams for a true color change. Nothing worse than looking at a nice exterior and then seeing under the hood and around the door jams that its not the original color. Dead giveaway.
