Got the leafsprings recall on my 2007 Tacoma prerunner V6 4.0L
Went to the dealer and they said they couldn't perform work on my truck because of its lift.

Now I'm not gna take my lift off just for them to fix my leafsprings, then lift it again.

The only option, going the dealership route, is by buying the new manufactured leafsprings they are putting on at Full price.

My friend just bought a 2017 Tacoma and he is not using his stock leafsprings. He claims that I can use the 2017 leafsprings on my 2007 Tacoma because the suspension hasn't changed.

Does anyone know if this is true? Can I use the newer leafsprings on my 2007?

To answer your question - Yes, the 2017 leafs will work on your 2007.

What kind of lift do you currently have? (I'm assuming you have blocks back there and using the OEM leafs)

    4" inch lift Dakar leafpacks/Bilstein 5100 B110/Fox 2.0 coil-overs/Catless Dual Exhaust w/H-pipe/OVtuned1.05/RCI Sliders/HID kits Hi/Low/AFE Intake with scoop and 76mm throttle body/Total chaos Fab UCA's
I used Dakar leaf packs while lifting my 3rd gen which are advertised on low range offroad as 2005-2017 tacoma rear leaf springs part number is EL095R or CS047R on ARBs site but the difference was in lift height between the two generations so should bolt right on.

Have you called any other dealerships in the area, perhaps there is another dealer that would be willing to do the recall.

That said, the leaf springs should work on your 2007.
