Hey guys - need some advice on leveling my truck. I had a 2007 TRD Off-Road and had big plans for mods but totaled it last year. Been driving a Ram 1500 since and FINALLY was able to get rid of that massive hunk of junk and get a new (to me) Tacoma. Just bought a 2014 TRD Sport and want to level it out. I have to drive roughly 100 miles a day for work so I only want the slight lift in the front to even it out. Planning on new shoes soon as well, but haven't decided on anything there either.

I'm thinking 5100's in the front set at 0.85 should do the trick. Can I run those set at that height on stock coils? Or would I be better with 887's and letting them do the lifting instead?

Also if anyone's got any pics of their truck leveled with anything like that in the front, I'd love to see them. I considered going more than 0.85 on the front and doing AAL in the back, but I'm not really looking for TOO much lift all around, just enough to be more off road capable than I am now, but be able to maintain a good ride for the 100 highway miles a day.

P.S. if anyone has any suggested wheel/tire set ups, drop them on me!

    Thanks

I don't know how this is so cheap. I'm looking at going with the 6112/5160 set up after I get my tax refund and it's priced out at about $1100 most places online.

A level lift is for looks. Any off road improvement will be negligible. Good tires (and good doesn't always mean bigger) and driver skill will do 100x more in that area. As a side bar, rake is engineered into vehicles for various purposes, and leveling negates that.

I'm going to guess, and only guess, that you care about MPG, since you seem to be commuting. If that's the case, be cautious when making changes. Mods to suspension and wheel/tire packages rarely increase MPG. If I'm wrong, ignore my comments and the rising fuel costs.

It always seems reasonable to build something based on 80-90% of your seat time, not what you might do someday. That way you insure enjoying the vehicle most of the time you are in it.

If you proceed with some type of suspension work, Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road is well versed in these choices. I can't recall seeing anyone complain about the parts or service they provide.
