[Edit] Well - since I can't delete the thread, might as well.

Heading down to Big Bend National Park this weekend. 1 day in the park itself before heading through - and we're already planning Old Ore Road, Black Gap, and Mariscal Mines.

With one day in the park, what other 'must see' places are there?

Yeaaaah, I'm lame and can't find a way to delete the thread, hahaha.

Planning out a trip; was looking for recommendations, and posted it in the wrong place.

Cant help much but last year I did River road along with black gap and it took about 6 hrs with stops for pics and enjoying the sights. The whole park is pretty sweet IMO. Keep in mind BBNP is a large park and it takes like 45-1 hr to get from the entrance to Panther junction. What day are you going to be down there? I"ll be there friday-sun/mon with some friends.

Terlingua Ghost Town is outside the park and pretty small, but neat to see. Stop by the gift shop for some interesting souvenirs if you have time.

Maverick Road from Santa Elena Canyon to the park's western exit near Terlingua is a great drive. Also, Grape Vine trail / hike.
