Paint and Finish Experts, Will I see a super white paint color variance if I de-badge a 2014?

Guys wondering if anyone has any experience with removing badges and decals from a 2014? I am concerned their may be some paint color variance form the sunlight and UV exposure over time.

I am about to replace my tailgate and rather than swap badges, i just thought I'd take them all off but don't want to if its pointless and the removed decal area will contrast too much.

    Any suggestions? Thanks.

In my opinion, you shouldn't see any issues. That's really not long enough for the paint to change color. Otherwise, most 10+ year old Tacos would be really discolored by now.

Now, the non-metalic-flake super white paint jobs use a single-stage paint. So, if you do debadge and things are slightly discolored, paint correction shouldn't be too difficult.

Again, just my 2 cents. Hopefully others will chime in.

Shouldn't see anything if you do just have the paint corrected on the truck. It will fix any discoloration issues like that.

Good news and piece of mind for the week. Thanks.

Hoping for minimal correction or it not being necessary at all. I’ll update my findings when the old tailgate is removed and the badges come off.

Looks like you guys were right on. No discoloration or variance (even in bright sunlight) Getting the tape residue off is another story. Using Goo Gone, but it's still really tough.

Now I must decide whether to remove badges and decals for the entire truck? I think it will be more my style.
