Harbor freight is good for the expendable stuff like the angle grinder, cutoff wheels, flapper discs, clamps, right angle magnets, welding blankets, welding gloves(they aren't the best but do work), wire bristle brush, etc. I love harbor freight but you just have to be careful with what you buy there.

No they are not cheap. My friends on the race teams have been raving about the ESAB welders. Something else to check out besides the standard Lincoln, Hobart or Miller welders out there. There's also one made by Eastwood that's supposed to be pretty good. ESAB always has a booth setup at the hammers to test out their welders and such.

If your planning on armor, plan for the weight and match the suspension for the weight. I did it backwards and did all the suspension first then added armor. Then had to go back and redo the suspension because of all the weight.

yeah that's what happened to me originally with the 5100s and OME 881s...couldn't handle anything over stock weight so once I started planning for my Budbilt skids and bumpers, I knew I would have to redo the suspension. Of course at the time I got the 5100 setup I had told myself I wasn't going to go crazy with an armored build...but we know how that goes.

Only thing I'm needing now suspension-wise is the new leaf springs and eventually bumps. Really interested in the All-Pro springs or Wheelers but they're just too far out of my price range. The OME pack for 1st gens is only $400 and will definitely be an improvement over my current 3 leaf AALs on the stock springs.

All this is why I ran the stock baja suspension for as long as I could.
I would probably be running it longer if I didn't break shit.
But then when I did upgrade ..... KINGS BABY

Though I think I need a bit more weight in the front with the 700lbs coils.

Also the gearing. A really weak winch can pull a lot of weight if it's geared correctly, but it'll pull so incredibly slowly. A more powerful winch might be geared lower and pull the same weight, but more quickly.

Im sitting here since 5PM patching windows servers and browsing tacomaworld.

Don't mind the patching as its a side job to pay for truck parts. Even ran into some issues that the customer thought would probably happen anyway so that just means more billable hours.
