And I understand that. I guess since I didn’t have to regear on my 08 I wasn’t expecting to on my 17.

I was thinking of my Mustang in particular, I added Ford Police Package Parts that were for Heavy Duty usage, Alternator, Fan Clutch, Battery Cables, Silicone Hoses, Odyssey Battery. My inner tie-rod went bad a couple years ago which was a fairly common issue so rather than using a stock replacement I took the entire Steering Rack out of an 04 Cobra which bolted in with some minor mods and is made with heavier more durable components. I used 4 wheel disc brakes from an SN95 Mustang which Ford used in the 93 Cobra R, Suspension from an 01 Bullitt Mustang. Welded Subframe connectors in which greatly reduced flexing of the body. The only thing I can honesty think of that I did that would reduce reliability slightly was changing my rear gears from 3.08s to 3.55s.

I probably should have clarified with "aftermarket" mods. OEM mods? Absolutely you can use them to improve reliability and durability.

That mod is like adding a sticker haha. Looks good, feels good, no change in performance.

Aftermarket suspension components are usually much more durable and reliable than stock. Ever compared a stock control arm to an aftermarket one? Putting a uniball, which is rated to industrial levels, in a light truck is tons more durable and reliable than the factory ball joint for instance. Generally aftermarket parts are rated for significantly more than stock. Why would Toyota put heavy duty components and add weight/reduce advertised MPG when it only has to haul 1600lbs to meet class standards?

EDIT: An easy answer would've just been adding gussets. Kind of hard to argue against that one lol.
