Are we talking about Portsmouth Island?

And if the wind isn't kicking, it should be warm enough for shorts. At least for people coming from the north. :D

I could still make it happen. I don't mind throwing a line in some new water. And the pup will follow me anywhere, so as long as I can get away from work, and it' dog friendly, I'm down.

Ignore the horrible picture my friend took because he's a shit photographer, and the fat dude holding it, but here's one from the recent trip to Florida. He was tasty too.

I'll have to check my calendar. I am going to the AOP trip unless something comes up and that is the 19-22.

I don't know what we are going to do HH was offered up as well. Portsmith was mentioned as just a trip for camping and fishing but could also be a good time when Joe comes down.

Here's what I've got so far and I'll update the OP. Let me know if any edits are needed.

Old Coast Guard Base - Folly Beach, SC
    Date: TBD (Possible Feb. 10/11)
    Type: Pier/shore - cart recommended
Known for good shark fishing and @scottalot will verify w/ Folly if any permits are required.

@Blackout14 South East Coastal Fishing Trip - NC, SC, GA, FL
    Date: TBD (Spring 2018)
Type: Kayak mainly but pretty sure nobody will say no a boat ride, a good pier, or awesome surf
Will update with Joe's planned stops once he gets his shit together. :boink:

My whole April weekend schedule is pretty jacked but my schedule is no reason to change your plans though as I'll catch up with you during one of the days I'm not committed to. Wife & son's birthdays are the 8th & 9th respectively. Son's biennial NICU reunion is the 14th in Charleston. AOP wheeling trip is 19-22.

I would say anywhere between Spring Break (March) and start of Summer (June) would be good down here in the touristy areas.

If you're only talking about a long weekend instead of a week+ trip, maybe better not to spend so much time driving from PA and fish your ass off in southern NC by @ovrlndkull or northern SC Pawleys/Myrtle area. I don't mind making a trip myself to meet you so you don't have all that drive time.

You're in on AOP as well? Yeah April is pretty hectic for me as well. Another thing that makes it hard for me is my custody agreement I have my daughter week on week of. So there is that and she doesn't have the stamina @ almost 5 to fish all day.

If you are trying to get any further into FL than N FL a long weekend won't cut it and even that you are really only going to get a day or 2 of fishing the rest would be all travel really. Long weekend I would suggest the same pretty much from Va Beach down to the Myrtle area would be good would get some time to fish all 4 days.

@dan0mite you should put Portsmith Island on that list of plans just put TBD for all the stuff.

Maybe we should compile a list of places and kinda have them set up like you do with the trip, date, type of fishing etc. and just keep them up and when times/dates are made just fill in the blanks what do you think?

Good deal buddy...let us know what you plan for this spring. Like I said, if you don’t make it this far south let me know where you plan to fish and I’ll see about making the drive up!

I’m more than a maybe but less than definite on AOP. My schedule is so dynamic that shit just pops up sometimes...but it is getting better. Besides @rogs6266 who deserted me for colder weather, my other fishing buddy is 3 years old and not quite ready yet.

There is nothing like these new chairs in the fishing yaks, I don't think I've tested an uncomfortable one yet. Bonus mine the way it is set up can double as a low sitting camp chair. Those Hobies I can't put my finger on it have the profile of I want to say a WWII battleship or something like that.

Here's my FeelFree Lure 11.5 I sold a few months ago to move into a Hobie.

    IMG_5003.jpg

Order placed for new Hobie Compass last week. Getting a delivery today of parts I ordered for new boat that isn't expected to be delivered for another few weeks...FWP.

The same day I dropped the cash on the Compass, a local guy down here put his 2017 PA14 up for sale w/ 180 drive, cart, rod holders, paddle, pole, etc. for $2500. I'd be lying if I didn't say I almost cancelled the order on my Compass to snatch up that PA14.

Almost did it! The thought of breaking my back trying to roof that sucker is what held me back...even though I’ve got a little trailer I could’ve used for it.

One of the fresh water ponds at a small local state park that isn’t frequented much. That pond is the most fished because it’s close to the entrance but there are some in the back that are a trek to get to with a kayak...but nobody fishes them.

They just installed a new launch too...

A launch what is this sorcery you speak of. What I call a launch is an algae covered boat ramp, that's fun! I wish NC let some of their lakes and ponds be more natural like that, but no a lot have to be all pretty and pristine so they look inviting vs. being natural.
