Just replaced the stock wranglers at 12,000 miles with 265/75/16 KO2s. I couldn’t be happier with the look. They make a big difference in the snow. I use to need 4wd a lot, not anymore! Drove thru an unplowed parking lot with 6 inches of snow in 2wd no problem. Braking is also greatly improved in snow and ice. I found them on Craigslist, some guy had ordered the wrong size. $630 cash.

Nics, i’ve hada few sets of them. No real complaints. They dont have great lingevity on bravel roads. I maybe get a year out of tyres, crushed rock roads eats all of them up.

I hope you don't break your truck much. Breaking in snow has got to be bad.... how does the tow truck get to you.

If you brake and your truck breaks, something is wrong.

Yup they work pretty good in snow/ice. Not as good as a dedicated set of snow tyres but they are a lot better then a set of m&s tyres or all seasons as rhey should be called.

I found them to be much softer than the stock Goodyear Kevlar, and also the increased rolling resistance could be felt, as coasting in neutral greatly suffered.

Love the look, but not happy about the significance of loss in MPG from stock.

Sorry to hear it breaks easier on snow and ice, maybe its a summer driver only.

I had to turn off my auto spelling on my phone- it was really bad too.

You will enjoy the tires, I have the same size too!

As expected every time you upsize. That's why many members do the Pizza Cutter size of 255.

Nothing wrong with that sentence. If you want to save Grandma, you just have to put the leftovers in the fridge.

Lucky me I barely do any highway driving. I do have a short circumferential hwy next to my house, but it’s only 2 miles long. For that short distance I don’t notice a noise difference.

I'm on the fence between the KO2's and duratracks. I love the look of the KO2's but everyone says the duratracks are a lot better in the snow and ice. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

That is all heresay. Its like the ford/chevy debate you get fans one way or the other. I’ve never had a tyre that is amazing in the snow (winter rated, M&s, etc). That being said some are better then others. If you want winter oerformance get a studded tyre.

Now, I really don’t think you can go wrong with either the ko2 or the duratrec. Both are solid tyres and IMO on equal playing fields. I’ve had both and never really found much of a difference except on the wallet. The duratrecs tend to be cheaper around here.

What i can tell you is stay away from the the cooper stt pro, which i recently changed to(back in oct) and I’m regrettig every minute if it. Phenomenal tyre woth amazing traction in dirt, mud and snow, hiwever the life of the tyre is questionable. I’m only expecting to get 40,000-50,000kms out of them, that and they reduced my fuel consumption by about 2-3mpg’s. I’ve got 26,000 on them now and i’m probably half way through the useable tread in the tyre. And by useable i don't mean to the bare miminum tread marker which is barely any tread to get traction on asphalt.
