Okay this is starting to be a clusterfuck. I thought there were only two washers and as I was ready to put the flange back on, the SECOND thin washer falls off from the flange. Now there's two thin washers and one thick washer.

Well I'm confused, maybe some of that is from broken pieces if the old bearings?

Your guess is as good as mine. The FSM diagram says there's two 'spacers' but I have three.

Think I have it figured out. My guess would be the thin washers go one each side of the carrier bearing, but you can't put one behind the bearing because it won't slide onto the shaft. You actually have to stack two thin washers on top of the bearing, followed by the flange, followed by the thick washer and stake nut.

Weird but it makes sense looking at how it came off and how the FSM only talks about one spacer behind the flange. Don't know why Toyota didn't just use a single washer.

You torque it to 134 ft/lb to seat it properly on the shaft, and loosen the nut again and tighten it to 54 ft/lb. The 134 ft/lb is just to make sure it seats properly.

Rebuilt my UCAs today (@Bentrodder did all of the work, really). Got an alignment afterwards. Much better ride.

Basically ordered a full rear end refresh so j have less shitty ride quality for my next trip. So I have some CS018R leafs coming, all four shocks are being rebuilt and revalved, got new shackles, new main eye bushings, bought brackets to make a new shock crossmember and to mount the shocks to the axle. Just need a ubolt flip and I'm good but since Allpro went tits up I'm unsure with which one to get.

Cause they're cheap and I'm on a time constraint as usual. These are actually the softer model of the ones I had before, but they always worked well for me, what didn't work was the stupid bilsteins. The leafs always had more travel than I could take advantage of with my lack of weight and shock location. Now I carry a decent amount for a trip and I have the opportunity to build the shock xmember the way I want it. Should play pretty nicely.

Yessir, did it the week after I got back haha. It is very well supported now. Doesn't move much anymore as the engine can't really move haha.

AC Compressor went out in my E320, having the same shop who did my flexplate fix it. Don't want to deal with purging the AC system - and the obvious curse that is trying to fix German engineering.

Just wondering what you guys have paid for an AC compressor replacement at a shop - they're charging around $800 iirc.

Think the Tacoma has a leak somewhere too, I recovered the refrigerant and recharged it myself when I had access to a shop and the AC tech told me I had a slow leak somewhere.

Oh and I tried to sell my transmission jack on Craigslist. I got one of this fuckwads trying to scam me by the use of a money order. Instead of calling them out on their obvious scam I thought id play their game to waste as much of their time as possible.

Idiots. This country is full of idiots.

    IMG_6310.jpg

EDIT: The saga continues. Let's see how long I can play him along.

    IMG_6311.jpg

Now that I think about you can remove transverse engine transmission with a normal transmission jack, but do you really think this asshole knows that?

Tackled the passenger side rear main leaf bushings.
The bolt actually came out easy.
The bushing was pressed in and we used a drill bit to remove bushing material. After one broken bit, the bolt sleeve came out.
A quick torching got more bushing material out.
Sawzall to the outer bushing sleeve that was rusted to the leaf eyelet, two cuts and then hammer chisled out.
    Wire wheel to clean up.
Daystar bushings with greaseable bolt slid right in.

Then performed a re-do on drivers side.
