    Well shit. 300 miles of almost all highway and my can is a quarter full of this crap.

    Any ideas what is going on? Truck doesn’t use any oil or coolant, all regular maintenance done, no other issues.

    Yeah might pull the valve covers this summer, it runs fine now so I'll probably just live with it and empty the catch can every 500 miles.

    It's not that humid here, but with the cold weather I suppose there will be more condensation going on. I will have to see how this compares to warm weather.

    Exactly. Humidity, moisture, whichever. The moisture collection is exacerbated by the cold.

    Not trying to cheat smog or anything, can we run this in California and still pass visual as long as this part stays closed loop and still uses the pcv valve? Always wanted one as I really dont like carbon buildup.

    Letter of the law, probably not. But a good, friendly smog tech will recognize that it's not hurting anything.

    guys, i opened my catch can today and notices some water as well. moisture in my crankcase. I have 30K on a 4.0L.

    is it the PCV valve already?

    anyone else have moisture in their can?

    Zero problem with mine. Went to two stations for my first smog (didn't have a CARB sticker for the SC going to the first station, got one and went to a different station) and neither one questioned me about it. Mine is clear anodized, hard to miss.

    Thanks, I just worry what I might do if they flunk my truck and try to keep my money. Happened before when I was younger. Its like getting a physical!, nobody likes something up their tailpipe.

    Technically the catch can does not bypass or eliminate the factory systems.
    The gases still travels from point A to point B identically as designed by Toyota.
    I consider the catch can just added equipment to extend engine life.
    Sort of like the old glass separator bowls on fuel systems that allowed access to drain out the water.
    Hopefully they don't give you any trouble.
    If stealth is the goal, I would recommend using constant tension hose bands for that OEM look.

    I'm thinking about doing this but not sure.
    I know for the rear axle it has a valve type simaliar to the pcv.
    Obviously, the pcv valve had higher pressure.

    What are you thoughts? Remove the pcv?
    I do plan on SC in a couple of months.
